HOUSTON, TX, [DATE]- — GVERSE GeoGraphix is pleased to announce the renewal of a major academic partnership with West Virginia University’s Department of Geology and Geography, extending access to advanced subsurface interpretation tools for an additional three years. Provided through the GVERSE GeoGraphix University Grant Program (UGP), the multi-year grant reaffirms the company’s long-standing commitment to geoscience education and delivers a powerful software suite—valued at $10 million—including licenses for Data Management, Mapping, Geology, and Geophysics modules to support the department’s academic and research initiatives.

Professor Dengliang Gao, Professor of Geophysics at WVU, emphasized the grant’s impact on student learning, “Using GVERSE GeoGraphix in the classroom has made it possible for our students to go and experience subsurface ‘field’ trips virtually,” he said. Gao noted that the platform’s integration of data analytics and machine learning, as well as cross-domain data integration enable students to simulate industry-standard workflows and build critical skills in decision-making, environmental remediation, and strategic resource development—preparing them for careers in both traditional and emerging energy sectors.

“We are proud to support WVU’s mission to train the next generation of geoscientists,” said Pete Batdorf, Director of Sales – U.S., at GVERSE GeoGraphix. “WVU’s commitment to incorporating real-world tools into academic instruction reflects the kind of university–industry collaboration that strengthens the workforce pipeline.”

Heather Cross, Director of Corporate Relations at the WVU Foundation, called the grant one of the most significant software contributions the department receives, “This grant, valued at $10 million, is one of the most significant software contributions our department receives.” She also added that access to professional-grade software like GVERSE GeoGraphix, “positions our students for success by ensuring they graduate with the skills today’s employers demand.”
